McCalls Mill

I completed 100 foot dry stone wall rebuild on McCalls Mill in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a favorite of mine because a beautiful horse now is in pasture and uses the wall every single day.

It brings joy knowing that the original wall was agrarian in nature, used to delineate a property line or keep in livestock, and here today it has a similar use. Its character remains.

I completed it in a little over 3 weeks. I did my first dry stone walling competition in the middle of it. I’m not sure I will ever do that again!
